S&P 500 3508,01 +23,46.

The stock market closed on a strong note before the end of a buoyant month of August. Portfolios managers pushed up prices as measured by our buying/selling index and our fear/greed index and were eager to do some window dressing near the end of the summer. Breadth recovered after weak readings observed during the last few days: 2’668 stocks advanced on the NYSE compared to 1’132 that settled down. In the option market, the story is still the same : traders are piling up on calls pushing put/call ratios to lows rarely reached in the past and over such a long period.
