S&P 500 3351,6 +53,14.

Short covering, window dressing at the end of the 3rd quarter and a potential pandemic relief bill proposed by the Democrats helped lift prices out of an oversold situation among some of our indicators. Breadth was very strong: 3262 stocks closed up on the NYSE whereas 638 settled down. This market action helped the cumulative advance/decline, that suffered recently, to recover. Options traders were active and again eager to buy calls. Most indexes and stocks stopped around their 40 day moving average, a level observed by many chartists and traders.
