S&P 500 3901,82 +90,67.

The stock market struggled all day long to rally before falling back towards the close. Breadth on the NYSE reflected this situation: 1788 stocks advanced compared to 2379 that settled down. Options trading was relatively balanced as measured by put/call ratios. It is interesting to note that the list of stocks hitting new lows has started to expand on the NYE and the Nasdaq, a consequence of the steepening of the yield curve? The Nasdaq composite index is still hovering around its pivotal point.
