The stock market opened on a strong note before closing slightly higher, an opposite pattern to the previous trading sessions. Breadth settled with 2257 stocks advancing compared to 1098 that settled down, a strong performance compared to the move in prices. Options traders were eager to play the upside of the market by buying calls. Our trading model and most systematic approaches turned down and brought some selling pressure towards the close, corroborating our last Tuesday’s comment. In summary, a consolidation/corrective process is underway and there’s still room for improvement across the board to bring back our risk profile index to a more attractive level.
